Deep Space Nine - Space Station of Sexuality

Deep Space Nine (Terok Nor) may have been created by the Cardassians - those bad boys and girls first showcased in Star Trek: The Next Generation - but when the Bajorans took over, the space station went from gloomy to welcoming and even sensuous.  From the many vendors on the promenade to Quark's - where you could play Dabo and flirt with those gorgeous and playful Dabo girls - DS9 was the place to be for those who wanted more than mundane recreational play with their space faring adventures.

Sexy Spotlight - Marta The Orion - Yvonne Craig

Orions are green - but burn red hot with allure.  Take the sexy Orion Marta, played by actress Yvonne Craig.  In the episode, Whom Gods Destroy, Marta is the less than balanced girlfriend of the shape shifting former Starfleet luminary - Garth of Izar.  Garth is now more of a raving madman who seeks to escape his mental institution imprisonment.

Yvonne Craig - aside from this memorable Trek outing - is perhaps best known in the sci-fi, fantasy and comic book world as none other than Batgirl on TV.  Along with Adam West and Burt Ward, Craig fought the Joker, the Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman and many more freaky folk on the wildly popular 1960's TV show.  The Blu-Ray set of the beloved show is on its way to stores, so fans will ultimately see Craig as Commissioner Gordon's crime fighting daughter in full 1080p glory.

Sexy Sulu - George Takei on Howard Stern

Mr. Sulu (George Takei) always steered a confident course on Starship Enterprise under his commanding officer, Captain Kirk - William Shatner.  These days, the now legendary Takei can be heard on Sirius XM radio as the official spokesman and voice over guy on The Howard Stern Show.  Set phasers on stunning fun - Oh My!

A life as interesting as the one Takei has led demands documenting.  To Be Takei is a documentary - 3 years in the making - on George Takei's life.  For anyone who loves Star Trek - or has followed this extraordinary actor's life - it's a must see event.

On his most recent appearance talking to Howard and the gang, Takei related how he was the last to sign on for the feature film Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.  Why did he take so long?  It had to do with the director - none other than Bill Shatner himself.  George also revealed that Shatner loved to tease his co-star by calling him Georgie - a nickname that Takei loathes.  When talk turned to how he and his partner, Brad, enjoy their nude wrestling on Sunday afternoons, Howard definitely waded into Star Trek Sex territory.

Star Trek Sex Focus - Klingon Passion, Sex & Foreplay

Klingons and sex?  Too mature?  No combat?  The sons and daughters of Kahless are not just honorable warriors, they're also passionate lovers - well, after a fashion anyway.  Throughout Star Trek's long history, the bad boys and glorious gals of the galaxy are portrayed as the most violent and merciless - but also one of the most intriguing when it comes to sexual activity and procreation.  From Kang battling Captain Kirk to Worf on Picard's Enterprise and then Deep Space Nine, to the inner turmoil and personality conflict of B'Elanna Torres of Starship Voyager lost in the Delta Quadrant, the love life of Klingons has never been dull.

One of the most intensely emotional examples of Klingon lovemaking and courting was Worf and K'ehleyr.  Indeed, theirs was a doomed love affair, however a son - Alexander (Brian Bonsall) - came out of their tumultuous union.

In Star Trek: Generations, the El Aurian scientist, Soran (Malcolm McDowall) hits his Klingon partner in crime, B'Etor, in the face with a palm strike.  Without missing a beat, she shoots back to him, "I hope for your sake that you are initiating a mating ritual."  Clearly, those lusty Klingons are just as tough in the sack as on the battlefield.

Star Trek Sexy Spotlight: Andrea The Android - Sherry Jackson

Androids are sexy.  Well, OK, they certainly can be.  Take Andrea from Star Trek - The Original Series.  Played by actress Sherry Jackson, Andrea is one android who helps to define the sexual allure of an artificially constructed human being.  Captain Picard's science officer, Data (Brent Spiner) may have been known for his burning intellectual thirst and hunger for human experiences and emotions, but before him, we met the erotically charged Andrea.

Created by the cybernetic scientst Roger Korby, Andrea could entice starship Captains like James T. Kirk as easily as flipping on a switch. However, the sexual energy - Lothario Kirk's legendary erotic mojo - could work both ways.  When Captain Kirk kissed Andrea, it enlisted stimulating 'emotions' within her.  When Andrea passed on her new sexual education to her startled creator, it did them both in.  Ah, the burning power of love!

Star Trek Sexy Spotlight: Dr. Miranda Jones - Diana Muldaur

The old fashioned notion of a doctor being stuffy, nerdy or fully non-sexual is shattered with this original series episode featuring the exotic Dr. Miranda Jones - played by Diana Muldaur.  Is There In Truth No Beauty? tells the tale of an enigmatic alien ambassador, Kollos - who exists in a pure energy state - being shepherded aboard Starship Enterprise by Dr. Jones.

Jones is a powerful telepath - so much so, she spent years on Vulcan to help control her telepathic powers so to avoid a dark trip into total insanity.  Why?  Simple:  The Medusan race is supremely intellectual, however, their hideous appearance drives human beings stark raving mad.  Jones is there to use her expertise, and to help see things don't get chaotic with the Medusan Kollos, while working on Captain Kirk's Enterprise.

There are many curious things about Miranda Jones, but one of the more amazing is that she's completely blind.  She utilizes a complex sensor web garment to navigate the world around her.  Diana Muldaur is well known to TV watchers in so many shows as guest star and regular cast member (L.A. Law), and two decades later she'd go one to create the character of Dr. Pulaski - replacing the departed Gates McFadden as Chief Medical Officer of Captain Picard's Enterprise.

Sexy Spotlight on Keiko O'Brien - Rosalind Chao - Star Trek: The Next Generation & Deep Space Nine

Chief Miles O'Brien (Colm Meaney), first seen as an engineer on Captain Picard's Enterprise 1701-D, made the move over to Captain Sisko's (Avery Brooks) outpost - the former Cardassian mining station of Deep Space Nine.  He wasn't alone for the transition.  He took along his school teacher wife, Keiko, played by Rosalind Chao.

Keiko may not have been an exotic alien from a wondrous world or another dimension, nor was she an expert in high tech magic or medicine, but as a teacher on the Enterprise, and then later on DS9, Keiko made a difference to the children and families of Starfleet.

Chao's career on TV is well known to fans, as she played Soon Lee Klinger in the final two episodes of the legendary TV series, M*A*S*H, and also had a recurring role in the Gary Coleman smash sitcom Different Strokes.  Though Chao plays Keiko O'Brien, a character who is a Japanese national, the actress herself is Chinese American.

Spotlight On Ishka - Ferengi - Andrea Martin & Cecily Adams

Ferengi aren't usually an alien race one looks to when sexual attraction is a prime topic of conversation.  Still, you have to admire a people who are so prosperous when it comes to conducting business and making that all important profit.  The small in stature race is also known for a natural comic bent which can lead to great laughter - albeit, at times, unintentionally so.  In Deep Space Nine, the most famous Ferengi is Quark, played by Armin Shimmerman.  His mother is Ishka, affectionately known by her sons Quark and Rom as Moogie, played by actress Andrea Martin.

Andrea Martin - the American comedienne best known from the Canadian comedy TV show Second City Television SCTV - gave Ishka more than a devilish sparkle and hint of mischievousness.  Martin did enjoy creating the popular role, but refused to come back to reprise the fan favorite character because of the heavy make-up process, which she hated.  Actress and casting director Cecily Adams (daughter of Don Adams from TV classic Get Smart) took up Ishka's persona for several more DS9's eps after Martin backed out.

Sexy Spotlight - Gary Seven's Isis - Victoria Vetri

A dog may traditionally be a man's best friend, but sometimes a cat can get a lot closer to a guy.  In the Star Trek episode, Assignment: Earth, a human (Robert Lansing) trained by aliens to be the super spy named Gary Seven, is definitely a cat kind of guy.  Indeed, he doesn't rely on a mutt like Lassie, Benji, Bolt nor AirBud to help him out.  He's constantly shadowed and assisted on his top secret missions by a mysterious black cat named Isis.

Playboy Playmate of 1968, Victoria Vetri, played enigmatic Isis in alluring human form.  Assignment: Earth was conceived as a possible launch of a spin-off TV series.  It never happened, so we lost track of Isis - that is, until, a Star Trek novel, The Rise And Fall Of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 2.  In the novel, Isis is killed by one of Khan's henchmen.

Sexy Spotlight - Roberta Lincoln - Teri Garr

Gene Roddenberry created one of the most popular and recognizable male characters in pop culture history - Captain James T. Kirk.  The Star Trek creator also invented other iconic male characters like Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and Chief Engineer of the Enterprise, Scotty.  Roddenberry was also adept at coming up with the feminine side of the TV equation with characters like Lt. Uhura (Nichelle Nichols) or Guinan (Whoopi Goldberg) - hostess of Ten Forward lounge on Captain Picard's Enterprise.  He also crafted a memorable female character we only saw once - Roberta Lincoln, played by beloved actress Teri Garr.

Garr is perhaps best known as the confused girlfriend of gender bender Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie, or as Gene Wilder's love in Young Frankenstein - from director Mel Brooks.  In Star Trek, Garr played the beautiful and confused Ms. Lincoln opposite Gary Seven (Robert Lansing), in the episode Assignment: Earth.  The episode was designed as a 'backdoor pilot' - meaning a tale inserted within a TV show that could serve as a launch for a spin-off series. Unfortunately, the show never materialized, so we're all left wondering - whatever became of the resourceful Ms. Lincoln?

Sexy Spotlight - Hoshi Sato - Linda Park

Can an ear be considered sexy?  If that's possible, then it can be safely said Enterprise officer Hoshi Sato (Linda Park) can claim her commanding officer, Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula), found her both competent and sexy.  Archer said to her earnestly, yet colorfully, "I need someone with your ear."  Indeed, as communications officer aboard the first warp powered United Earth starship Enterprise, Lt. Commander Sato was an expert listener, and she helped her brave crew communicate with all manner of lifeforms.

Sato was such a gifted linguist and such an accomplished professional, her work would lead to the standard Starfleet language translation matrix - or in the more common usage term, the linguacode.

Sexy Costumes - William Ware Theiss

The sexy gals, guys and aliens of Star Trek boasted an eye popping look like few other TV shows or even films dared to showcase at the time.  From the sexy green of the Orion Slave Girls, to Mudd's Women sexiness and cosmic allure, Trek's attractive folk lit up both the small and silver screen.  One big reason why the sexy came out - especially in the 1960's and in Star Trek: The Next Generation - was because of costume designer William Ware Theiss.  Aside from the writers, producers, make-up artists and actors, Theiss was the man who gave Trek its distinctive, yet classic and future sexy look.

Theiss won an Emmy Award for the first season of ST: TNG, and he helped launched the next level of Gene Roddenberry's futuristic legacy and romp, which would go on for seven syndicated seasons.

iPad or PADD? Star Trek Sexy Tech Is Sexy Modern Gadget

iPads may not be all that new anymore, but they are certainly some of the coolest and sexiest high tech toys around.  Star Trek also uses a tech pad of sorts - or the PADD - Personal Access Display Device.  Captain Kirk used a version way back in the 1960's and Captain Picard's streamlined version allowed him to be well informed about missions and crew rosters.

It's said that with a properly configured PADD - one could stroll down a Starship corridor and pilot the Enterprise - plotting courses and even firing on enemy vessels.  Just think of how indispensable your Android tablet or iPad has become to you now in your everyday work and play.  Engage your tablet and your PADD!

Star Trek Sexy Spotlight - Female Q - Suzie Plakson

Q!  Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) shouted this so many times, he should have trademarked it - well, maybe he did.  On Star Trek: The Next Generation, one super powered bad baddie called Q - played by John DeLancie - menaced the Enterprise crew more than many.  It was a wild ride with Q popping in every so often over the course of 7 seasons to muck up mischief.  When Star Trek: Voyager warped onto TV, with Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) at the helm, Q had a new adopted home to terrorize and it was here that we met a female Q  - Suzie Pakson.

The Female Q was Q's lover and despite some rocky romancing, they reconciled and even managed to bring a child into the world - only to have it be so badly behaved, so much of a cosmic handful, his mother basically disowned him.  Q was then left to raise Q Junior on his own.

Star Trek Sexy Spotlight - Gillian Taylor - Catherine Hicks

Captain, there be whales here!  So said the excited Scotty (James Doohan) in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, after the huge humpback whales were beamed aboard the 'borrowed' Klingon Bird Of Prey.  The whales, named George and Gracie after the great comedy team of George Burns and Gracie Allen, were the key to telling a future probe, which was devastating Earth, what it could 'go do with itself' - according to that gentle physician, Dr. McCoy.  The woman who had looked after these important ocean dwellers was Dr. Gillian Taylor - played by actress Catherine Hicks.  She's perhaps best known as the mom from Child's Play - the first Chucky movie.

Gillian was romanced - or more accurately courted - by Captain Kirk (William Shatner), so he could get his hands on her whales - literally.  The two had great chemistry, and later in a few Star Trek comic books, the two even became a couple - at least for a short time.

What may be most interesting to die hard Trekkers is the breaking - or at least bending - of the Temporal Prime Directive here.  Unlike so many time travel adventures in Gene Roddenberry's universe, the crew of Enterprise take Dr. Taylor back with them into the future.  The logic:  Since Earth's future marine biologists are unfamiliar with real live humpback whales, Gillian will be indispensable in caring for them.

Star Trek Sexy - Starship Spotlight - The Excelsior

Star Trek's most famous space faring vessel is Captain Kirk's Starfleet starship - the U.S.S. Enterprise 1701.  Of course, Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) may differ and say his Enterprise - U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-D was more popular.  Whichever you prefer - Voyager and Deep Space Nine are also contenders - the fact is the sci-fi franchise has given space ship fans a host of galactic goodies to choose from.  One of the more sleek, sexy and downright glorious is the U.S.S. Excelsior NCC-2000.

We first saw this awesome, and by the standards of Kirk's era a far more advanced star ship than Enterprise, in the feature film Star Trek III: The Search For Spock.  For all of its supposed might, however, it only takes Scotty a wee bit of tinkering to bring the grand old lady to a halt.  Our intrepid engineer removes key components of the warp drive, so that when Kirk hijacks Enterprise, the Excelsior can't follow.  Later, in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, none other than Hikaru Sulu (George Takei) now commands the trans-warp powered Excelsior.  At one point, it was even rumored that a new Trek show would debut with Captain Sulu at the helm of star trekking adventures.

Star Trek Sexy Spotlight - Janice Manheim - Michelle Phillips

Captain Picard may not have been as sexually busy as his Starfleet predecessor, Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner), but he still did have his share of the lovely ladies.  One of the most beautiful, classiest and pop culture ready of Picard's beauties was Janice Manheim - played by Michelle Phillips of the pop group, The Mamas And The Papas fame.

In the first season episode, "We'll Always Have Paris", Picard reunites with his long lost love - now the wife of scientist, Paul Manheim.  Though the two ex lovers try to recapture the magic of the old days, by recreating the romance of Paris, France in the holodeck, things don't work out exactly as planned.  Still, it's one of the earliest examples of how the Starship Enterprise's holodeck could serve as a place to accurately rekindle the romance of the past.

Star Trek Movies - How They Stack Up on Rotten Tomatoes

On Rotten Tomatoes, Star Trek (2009) scores highest of all cinematic treks. There are now 12 feature films - 6 in the original cast - 4 featuring the Next Generation cast - and 2 with actors recast as Captain Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto) and others. How do Captain Kirk and Captain Picard measure up on Rotten Tomatoes?

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) - Score 45%
Directed by Robert Wise (The Haunting) and reuniting the cast from the original 1966 TV show - William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Deforest Kelley, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig and George Takei - the big screen effort is a contradiction in cinema terms. Though awash with spectacular sets, costumes and FX, the film seems to keep both the characters on screen - and audience - at arm's length. This may have been an intentional or subliminal theme, afterall, Spock and the rest haven't been working together for years. When they must band together to fight the rampaging thing called V'ger, a little rekindling of the chemistry is definitely required.

Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan (1982) - Score 90%

Khaaaaaaaan! It's the line most associated with this Nicholas Meyer directed flick, and perhaps as popular as other taglines like Beam me up, Scotty or Live long and prosper. Khan was played by the charismatic Ricardo Montalban - TV's Mr. Rourke of Fantasy Island fame. There's a plethora of reasons why STII is so popular, even favorite among trekkers, but chief among them is the powerful performance from Montalban. Benedict Cumberbatch plays the role in 2013's Into Darkness, and while serviceable, and even fun, his portrayal can't touch the original Khan.

Star Trek III: The Search For Spock (1984) - Score 78%

Spock is back - well, mostly. It's a rare and special film where the title character doesn't truly appear till the final scenes, but that's what makes STIII so engaging. Still, compared with its predecessor, the love for it is dimmer. Leonard Nimoy helmed the movie and one can say that his dual role of director and actor - as brief as it was - may have limited the care and feeding of this cinematic beast. Note to Taxi fans: Christopher Lloyd, the Reverend Jim himself, plays head Klingon Kruge. He's not the most villainous of the Trek big baddies, but he's definitely the quirkiest.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) - Score 85%

You can't go home again? Not for Captain's Kirk crew! They not only do so, they travel in spectacular, albeit risky fashion. After the Enterprise herself is sacrificed in the previous entry, Kirk, Spock, McCoy and the rest time warp back to the hip 1980's. Their mission? Bring back a few whales - yes, those giants of the ocean. Directed again by Nimoy, this in all respects is the lightest, even most joyous of space treking tales. There's no villain - save maybe bad future ecology. It's hands down the funniest film entry of them all.
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) - Score 21%
What does God need with a starship? Kirk fires off this line to the super baddie at the film's conclusion, so you basically get an idea of the tone of this ambitious, if off kilter 5th installment. William Shatner directed this weird romp - and provided story material - like his buddy Leonard Nimoy had in the last two outings, but sadly, the reception wasn't quite the same. Though bolstered by the solid actor Laurence Luckinbill as Sybok, the tale is hampered by a muddled narrative focus and cheap looking FX and production values. Note: For real fans and collectors, the blu-ray release looks worlds better than the DVD or even when it's broadcast on TV.

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) - Score 83%

The Klingons make a serious, yet still fun appearance, in perhaps the most political oriented entry. Writer Leonard Nimoy is on record saying he got the idea after witnessing the fall of the former Soviet Union. The Klingon Empire becomes the stand in for the Russians and Kirk and General Chang's face off evokes the tension of the cold war between the USA and USSR. Christopher Plummer as Chang delights in his deviltry. Nicholas Meyer returns to the director's chair, which results in an adventure for both the inquisitive mind and action loving spirit.

Star Trek: Generations (1994) - Score 47%

The passing of the historical and creative baton is realized here in polished style. Kirk, Scotty (James Doohan) and Chekov give way to The Next Generation alumni of Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart), Data (Brent Spiner) and Jonathan Frake's Riker. Director David Carson makes good use of the upgraded TV sets and offers up new eye candy like Stellar Cartography. While it doesn't rank up there with Wrath of Khan or the forthcoming Borg buffet, ST: First Contact, Generations utilizes no less than three villains in the self serving Soran (Malcolm McDowell) and delightfully decadent Klingon Duras sisters to great effect. While no masterpiece, it seems to grow on one after repeated viewings.

Star Trek: First Contact (1996) - Score 92%

I am the beginning. The end. The one who is many. I am the Borg. The one and only Borg Queen, played by South African actress Alice Krige (Stephen King's Sleepwalkers), is a primary reason this feature film entertains so well. It comes in 2nd best rated on Rotten Tomatoes. In TNG's 2nd season episode, Q-Who, we met the Borg - courtesy of the clownish demi-god, Q. This cybernetic race scours the galaxy like a band of tech hungry zombie geeks. Jonathan Frakes directed this dark blockbuster, and while the parallel story of Riker, Troi and LaForge coaxing the drunkard Zephram Cochrane into action is compelling, the seduction of Data by the Queen and reuniting with her beloved Locutus (Picard) is the story we've come to see. The Borg are such a universal crowd pleaser - like The Walking Dead with blinking lights. They were covered mightily during ST: Voyager's television run, and will no doubt invade the big screen again someday. Resistance is futile.

Star Trek: Insurrection (1998) - Score 55%

Like a warp powered fairy tale or Ponce de Leon's search for a fountain of youth, this 3rd Next Generation movie feels like a lost and overlong episode. There's a great, screeching villain played by Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus), and an intriguing mystery, but the payoff and ultimate stakes are far more TV centric than big budget box office fodder. Look for a few hilarious scenes as Starfleet's finest get 'younger' from the planet's deaging radiation - Worf suffering through a bout of acne alongside Beverly and Troi's breasts getting perkier by the hour qualify for must see chuckles.

Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) - Score 37%

Above all else, this is worthy for introducing us to one of the most in demand actors working today, Tom Hardy, whose first Hollywood flick was a small role in Black Hawk Down. Hardy plays a clone of Captain Picard, enmeshed in Romulan politcs. Though he's hindered a bit by dopey plotting, convenient alien social structure and over the top dialogue, Hardy is an actor who always commands the screen. Tom Hardy will be the new Mad Max - taking over for Mel Gibson. Nemesis was helmed by British director Stuart Baird (Executive Decision), and it's said that while filming, Baird caused tension by confusing characters with one another - frustrating many actors.

Star Trek (2009) - Score 95%

It was a 7 year gap, but well worth the wait. J.J. Abram's big budget bonanza solidified Star Trek as a huge cinematic draw - as long as it was given enough money, time and talent. Starring Chris Pine as the new Kirk, Zach Quinto as Spock and Karl Urban as Dr. Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, the movie satisfies most hardcore fans, while opening things up for new ones. This one scores highest of all the Treks on Rotten Tomatoes and managed to smoothly steer the franchise into another entry four years later.

Star Trek: Into Darkness (2013) - Score 87%

We're aging, Jim. The Enterprise crew are aging once again - albeit a little slower this time. With four years between each big screen outing now, the fans must wait longer and see their heroes and heroines just a tad more weather beaten come the film's release. But it's OK, all that jarring CGI eye candy distracts with gleam and glee. With British thespian Benedict Cumberbatch (The Hobbitt: The Desolation of Smaug) fleshing out a new kind of Khan, and Spock and Uhura's romantic relationship rocking on into stormy territory, this one has something for every fan, new, old or merely confused.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Spotlight - Ezri Dax - Nicole de Boer

When your commanding officer - and one time best friend in another 'life', Captain Sisko - sums you up like this, "She's a Dax. Sometimes they don't think; they just do." - you know your life is one big roller coaster ride.  For Ezri Dax (Nicole de Boer), the more accurate way to sum up her life would be to go plural - as in multiple lives.  As a Trill, she's a joined species - a host and a symbiotic lifeform.

After Terry Farrell, who originated the role of Lt. Dax on Deep Space Nine left the series, Nicole de Boer was brought in to replace her in the seventh and final season of the syndicated show.  And since Trill sort of do the old body swap as a rule anyway, viewers weren't left as shell shocked as when some TV shows plug in a new performer swapped for an old.

Voyager Sexy Spotlight - Seska - Martha Hackett

Seska is the girl you definitely don't want to take home to Mother.  On the other hand, if you want a conniving, double dealing and basically psychopathic personality to join the family, perhaps Mom would take a real shine to her.  On Star Trek: Voyager, actress Martha Hackett brought to life a Bajoran who was really a Cardassian.

Seska, among many other interesting things, was a spy - surgically altered to appear a Bajoran. She'd romance Chakotay (Robert Beltran), then throw the love affair back in his face by carrying on with a Kazon heavy.  The ultimate betrayal would be her pretending to have Chakotay's baby, when in reality, it was the son of the Kazon Culluh.

Star Trek Sex - Deep Space Nine or Terok Nor - Cardassian Space Station Turned Starfleet & Bajoran Outpost

Deep Space Nine is one incredible space station.  Even before Commander Sisko (Avery Brooks) took command of the outpost - the former Cardassian station called Terok Nor - the place had a definite reputation as the go to spot for all sorts of outrageous or even sexy 'adventures'.  When the Barjorans allied themselves with the United Federation of Planets, the station was renamed Deep Space Nine or DS9, and Starfleet stationed officers to assist Bajor.

It would become the place to fuel up - both yourself and your ship - before taking a jaunt into the Bajoran Wormhole into the Gamma Quadrant.  Feel like a little gambling or need to relax over a few drinks?  Quarks is the happening place.  Be warned though - security is always vigilant.  Constable Odo (Rene Auberjonois) doesn't like any behavior that's too fun - i.e. not lawful.  By the time Quark or another of his Ferengi staff have sold you a few those pretty and 'affordable gems', you could find yourself spending a few days and nights in the brig for trafficking in stolen merchandise.  It may be worth it though, the Dabo girls are famous for being some of the sexiest gals in the cosmos.

Next Generation Spotlight - Nurse Ogawa - Patti Yasutake

She was the capable nurse and friend to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Beverly Crusher, played by Gates McFadden.  Nurse Ogawa (Patti Yasutake) performed beyond the call of duty on many occasions, and she even was 'devolved' in the TNG episode, Genesis - which Gates McFadden directed.

Star Trek Sexy Spotlight - Lt. Yar - Denise Crosby

She kept order as Security Chief on Captain Picard's Enterprise for only one season, but Lt. Yar (Denise Crosby) was an unforgettable character.  Her lean, athletic body, confident manner and piercing blue eyes let all those around her know she always meant business.

Denise Crosby went on to star in feature films like Pet Sematary, but returned to The Next Generation in the time tripping episode Yesterday's Enterprise, and then played her own daughter, the half Romulan, half human Sela in the episodes Unification and Redemption.  Crosby would go on to produce and host the definitive Trek fan documentary Trekkies and its sequel Trekkies 2.

The Many Looks Of Counselor Troi - Marina Sirtis

Star Trek is known for many things.  Fans love the starships - the Enterprise, the Defiant, the Excelsior, the USS Voyager.  Collectors love to buy their own prop replicas of the phasers or tricorders or communicators.  And one of the other things highly noted about Star Trek are the uniforms and costumes.  Perhaps no other character - certainly a regular cast member - had as many looks and costumes as the lovely Counselor of NCC-1701-D - Deanna Troi.

She showcased purple dresses and lavender, and blue and something in between.  She wore regulation command uniforms and skirts and skants and all sorts of other things.  One thing's for certain, Counselor Troi kept up with the fashionable side of things during her tour of duty.  Engage & set  phasers on FASHION!

Star Trek Sexy Episode - Next Generation - Up The Long Ladder

Commander Riker never got the girl as much as Captain Kirk, but he still didn't do all that badly in the romance department.  During the 2nd season of Next Generation, in the episode, Up The Long Ladder, Riker (Jonathan Frakes) is propositioned by a lovely gal named Brenna.  He doesn't exactly put up a fight, but in the end he gets to the business of - ahem - foot washing.  "You generally start at the top, and work your way down.", Brenna advises him, and rest assured, cleaner feet are the result.

Star Trek Sexy Spotlight - Zoe Saldana - Lt. Uhura

Star Trek: Into Darkness star Zoe Saldana loves science fiction.  That the actress picked to take over the iconic role made famous by Nichelle Nichols is a big fan herself assures other fans the franchise is in safe hands.  Saldana grew up with a trekkie mother and loving movies like The Terminator and Blade Runner.  These days, she sits on the bridge of Starfleet's flagship starship - the Enterprise.  The beautiful actress loves sci-fi, and now she's an important part of one of the biggest sci-fi franchises in history.

What's The Sexiest Star Trek Show?

Is Captain Kirk's Enterprise more of a sexy place than Jean-Luc Picard's?  Did Benjamin Sisko preside over former Cardassian run Deep Space Nine as a den of sexual iniquity, or was Captain Janeway's Voyager the place to score more?  With four spin-off TV shows based upon the original sci-fi creation of Gene Roddenberry, fans have hundreds of episodes to see just which space place was more of the party spot or not.

Borg Queen (Alice Krige) VS Borg Queen (Susanna Thompson)

They Are The One Who Is Many - They Are The Borg.  The Borg Queen was originally fleshed out by Alice Krige in the film, Star Trek: First Contact (directed by Jonathan Frakes), then played by Susanna Thompson on Star Trek: Voyager.  In a real world monarchy, there may not be enough room for two ruling Queens, but in the Trek universe, we have two Borg Queens who sit on the throne at various times.

Both actresses embodied the enigma which is hallmark of the creepy cybernetic marauders.  The Borg are rampaging technology thieves who will stop at nothing to acquire more gadgets.  Their queen is the most valuable gadget of them all - she is the one who brings order to chaos.

Ensign Ro - Michelle Forbes

She was the Bajoran with the checkered past who gave Commander Riker more than a little pause when she came aboard the Enterprise NCC-1701-D for a vital mission.  Played by actress Michelle Forbes, Ro Laren - or Laren Ro, since Bajorans use their surname first - would eventually become an important part of Captain Picard's Enterprise.

Kirk VS Picard - Sexy Shat or Sexy Stew?

The Kirk or The Picard?  The Shat or the Stew?  The original or the next generation?  Star Trek fans have more than just Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) when it comes to choosing the sexier starship commander, but let's face it - these are the two we most often watch.  Set phasers on seductive poses!

Star Trek Sexy Spotlight - Dr. Selar - Suzie Plakson

Vulcan, heal thyself.  In the case of the medical professional Dr. Selar (Suzie Plakson), she's all about healing the crew of Captain Picard's Enterprise.  Selar is one of those characters who - although only actually appearing in one TNG episode, The Schizoid Man -  fans love and want to know get to know better.  Despite her only appearance, Selar is mentioned in many other episodes.  Plakson's most famous other Trek character was playing Worf's doomed love, the fiery, human Klingon hybrid, K'Ehlyer.

Star Trek Sexy Spotlight - Kes - Jennifer Lien

We met the enigmatic Kes (Jennifer Lien) on Voyager.  She was an Occampan - an alien species who didn't have a long lifespan. Voyager's Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) took Kes and boyfriend Neelix (Ethan Phillips) into the fold.  She relied upon their knowledge of the Delta Quadrant, as the starship made its journey home.  Kes had many looks during her tenure, and by the time of her departure, she had survived many incredible adventures.

Neelix's Ship - Voyager Spotlight

Neelix became many things on Voyager - cook, host, guide, inspirational icon.  To some he was admirable, even cute - to others he was just plain annoying.  However, before he came aboard Janeway's starship, he had his own ship - the freighter, The Baxial.

Star Trek Sexy StarShips - The Delta Flyer From Voyager

Sexy is as sexy does.  In this case, sexy is as sexy flies - or warps.  Lt. Tom Paris loves piloting starships, and he loves tinkering in his spare time.  It was no wonder that he'd come up with the Delta Flyer.  The ship is sort of a shuttle craft on steroids.  During Voyager's long time in the Delta Quadrant, the Delta Flyer was created to answer a need for greater security and flexibility in the Starfleet vessel's trip back home to the Alpha Quadrant.  I wonder if Geordi LaForge was jealous?

Star Trek Sexy Spotlight - T'Pring - Arelne Martel - Amok Time

Can a Vulcan be a bitch?  It all depends on your definition - of both, that is.  The sly, manipulating Vulcan beauty called T'Pring definitely demonstrates what many would call major bitchiness.  Of course to her - and students of Vulcan logic - her actions in the episode, Amok Time, are supremely logical.  Played by actress Arlene Martel, T'Pring impresses us with her beauty and strategic mind.  Also, as the first Vulcan female to be seen on the original series, T'Pring becomes a kind of standard bearer for the gender - thankfully, though, her actions aren't a model for future Vulcan women like T'Pol of Enterprise.

After an ailing Spock must be taken to his home world by Kirk's Enterprise, T'Pring unveils a seamlessly logical trap for Spock.  Fight your Captain to the death - either kill or be killed.  Knowing whatever the outcome - whomever wins - means she'll still be basically alone on Vulcan to carry on with her lover Stonn, makes T'Pring one sexy Star Trek gal indeed - and yes, even a real bitch

The Women Of Star Trek

Recently, NBC broadcast a prime-time special - The Women of SNL.  It was a rebroadcast from 2010 - an hour long retrospective featuring female comic performers who've made Saturday Night Live must see TV.  Star Trek also has an NBC connection.  It premiered on the National Broadcasting Company back in 1966.  How about a special called - The Women Of Star Trek?
