Shana had cotton candy green hair years before punk rockers boasted their jade locks in the punk pop 1970's. Long before mixed martial arts MMA and the UFC, Shahna got down and dirty in the ring and usually prevailed. She was incredibly lovely, highly sexual, though mostly all business. She also could beat most anyone down with a really big stick. Ya gotta love such versatility.
The performer who created her, Angelique Pettyjohn, was definitely convincing at being a seductive character - so much so she could convincingly seduce a Starfleet officer. Later in her career, the exotic actress did a lot of B movies - including the cult classic Repo Man (Emilio Estevez) - she even did a few hardcore adult flicks.
Captain Kirk, because of his eternally demanding duty, had to deceive her, but in the end, he did try to teach her about love. Even though Shahna tried to gut good ole Kirk like a fish with her big can opener, it's clear that ultimately she had more than a soft spot for the Starfleet Starship Captain who tried to teach her all about love. Set phasers on the eternal struggle for true love!
